Welcome to

Anabel for Woodburn School Board

Anabel Hernandez-Mejia
WSD - Woodburn School District

Anabel is a mother of two students in Woodburn schools, and the first in her family to go to college. She understands the importance of education in changing a child’s life. She wants to serve on the school board to support children who need more educational opportunities. Her priorities are:
●Ensuring all children can read by the 3rd grade
●Supporting students who are falling behind, so more graduate high school
●Increasing job skills training and CTE in middle and high schools

Supported by local teachers, working families, and parent activists

We make it!

By meeting others where they are at, I’ve helped working people access housing and additional resources. I know how students and families have struggled and fallen behind, so I want to serve and fight for ALL our children.

  • "As a parent, I support Anabel because she will fight for kids at risk of dropping out."

    - Victoria Navarro, parent in Woodburn

  • "I support Anabel because, as an educator, I trust Anabel to focus on what we need in classrooms!"

Tony Salm, educator in Woodburn schools

  • "I support Anabel because she understands what skills students need to work at local businesses!"

    - Carisa Rangel Gottuso, eXp Realty, LLC, Woodburn

  • Our schools need to be preparing students for career paths or college. I will focus on career training programs and college preparation paths for all kids.

  • I support Anabel because I’ve seen how well she works and connects with youth and she taught me to open up, go out of my comfort zone, and continue my education.

-Alexandra Medina, High School Graduate, Woodburn

As a mother of two kids in the WSD - Woodburn School District and first-generation college student, I understand the importance of education in changing a kid’s life. I also understand the barriers preventing every student from achieving their full potential. I was honored to be appointed to the school board to support all kids in our community and want to keep serving children so they make the best of educational opportunities and not lose out.
